Thanks for your reply
When I try to run your code in eclipse , there is trouble with emulator
“emulator-5554 disconnected! Cancelling ‘com.marcodinacci.android.pim.PIMActivity activity launch’!”

and then I try to install the apk file in my device , but it cant be installed
I’m using 2.3.3 android version

Why ? can you give me some advice?

For anyone still interested.. I took the bits and pieces found here and created an App that detects motion between preview frames.

It’s open source.

Hi,
I don’t see how you would want to run it as a background service, if the camera is not in foreground you won’t receive the pixels and you won’t be able to perform any detection on them. In short, if I understood correctly your question, I’m afraid you can’t.
